The ceremony, at the presence of the honor guard, started in the historical Gengis Khan square and then took place at the State Building.

Subsequently to the presentation of the credentials, Ambassador Sequi had a pleasant conversation with President Elbegdorj, to which he sent the greetings from President of the Italian Republic, Sergio Mattarella. As a tangible sign of mutual interest in developing further relationships in every field between Italy and Mongolia, Ambassador Sequi and the Mongolian President then discussed about the decision made by the Italian Government to establish a Diplomatic Delegation in Mongolia.

“During the friendly conversation entertained with the Mongolian President, I have emphasized the concrete determination shown by the Italian Government, especially by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to celebrate the opening of the new Embassy soon” declared the Ambassador, following the ceremony. “Furthermore, I have underlined how much effort Minister Gentiloni has been making, well-aware of the opportunities offered by such a growing country as Mongolia is.
