Ambassador Sequi at the presentation of China Entrepreneur Club’s visit to Italy

The Ambassador of Italy in China Ettore Sequi attended the press conference presenting the mission that the China Entrepreneur Club is preparing to carry out in Italy and Germany. From 17 to 22 October, the leaders of some of China’s major private enterprises will travel to Rome, Florence and Milan, where they will have a series of meetings with representatives of Italian businesses as well as political and cultural institutions, to expand their knowledge of the Country and of the opportunities it can offer to Chinese entrepreneurs.

In his speech Ambassador Sequi emphasized that CEC’s mission takes place at a time when relations between Italy and China are gradually strengthening, following the exchange of visits by President Renzi and Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang in 2014 and the two recent missions to China carried out by Foreign Minister Gentiloni within a few months.

Italy, thanks to the recent improvement of its economic indicators and to a number of important structural reforms currently under way, offers growing business and investment opportunities for Chinese entrepreneurs.

Italy and China – said the Ambassador – thanks to a special relationship established over the centuries, are ideal partners. Italy offers not only culture but also innovation “ours is the land of Michelangelo and Leonardo but is also the country at the forefront of research and innovation, capable of sending Italian astronauts into space.”

China Entrepreneur Club’s mission provides an excellent opportunity to showcase the best of “Made in Italy” and to promote “Do it with Italy”, i.e. the cooperation between entrepreneurs of the two countries.

Ambassador Sequi then offered CEC’s Chairman Ma Weihua a jersey of the Italian national football team – which just qualified for the next European Championships – as a wish of success for the mission, and a book in Chinese on Marco Polo’s travels, a symbol of the centuries-old relations that unite Italy to China.
